Thanks to Adam's reviews of the top 7 and my constant surfing of DCI web pages, i am completely excited about this trip to california.  i cannot wait to see another drum corps show with people who love drum corps.  yeah, it was nice that Megan decided to come along last year when the show was in Madison, but loud brass and drill formations aren't really her thing, she's a flute player, what more is there to say.  Then again, one of my major flaws in life is that i am always much too ready to get lost in the excitement and energy of things.  Megan has always been a critical person, looking at details that most people couldn't care less about.  Yet when all is said and done, nothing is going to take the fun away from next week.  Live drum corps is one of the best experiences i have ever encountered.

Just listening to some 2002 DCI.  I miss that year.  maybe because it was the only year where there was any glimmer of hope (slight as it was) of reaching the finals field.  yeah, part of me was all about the competition and wishes that i could have seen some success other than personal achievement, but what can you do, the past has happend and the colts didn't make it while i was around.  there were also a lot of good shows that year, so i guess i don't feel too bad about missing out.  (though Magic reaching finals was a bit of a stretch, and BK's show was down right boring, but you'll have that.)

i've started to play around with Final Cut.  this is a complicated program.  there is so much to do, i just don't know where to start.  that's cool though, i would rather have a hard time finding all of my options that paying tons of money for something that could only cut and paste.  hopefully i can pull some quality projects out of this thing.
